Walker Polk developed a passion for land at an early age and has a deep appreciation for God’s creation. Growing up, he was blessed with opportunities to hunt, fish, work cattle, and spend countless hours on his family’s ranches. Those experiences instilled in him a lasting respect for the land and the families who own, improve, and steward it.
Walker's competitive nature and strong work ethic led him to compete in collegiate baseball at Baylor University, Grayson College, and The University of Texas. His years as a student-athlete reinforced the values of discipline, preparation, communication, and teamwork—qualities that continue to shape the way he serves his clients. In 2026, he graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication and earned his Texas Real Estate License.
During college, Walker completed two summer internships with Hortenstine Ranch Company, one of the nation's premier farm and ranch real estate brokerages. There, he worked alongside partners Cash McWhorter and Blake Hortenstine, gaining firsthand exposure to the principles behind successful ranch real estate—from evaluating and positioning properties to marketing, negotiating, and closing transactions. Watching seasoned professionals consistently deliver results provided him with a foundation that few young agents have the opportunity to experience.
Walker also spent two years on the technology side of the land industry with a leading marketing and software company serving land brokerages across the country. Working with many of the industry's top brokers and firms, he developed a deep understanding of the digital marketing strategies shaping today's land market, including mapping technology, photography, video, search engine optimization, digital advertising, and data-driven marketing. Here, he learned the modern playbook for connecting rural properties with qualified buyers. This experience allows Walker to combine traditional land knowledge with innovative marketing strategies to position properties effectively and maximize exposure.
